Late Bloomer

Tuesday 14 June 2005

Cavanillesia platanifolia. I like this tree that blooms late in summer, taking its own sweet time to bear flowers. While the rest of the trees have finished flowering and have moved on to producing leaves, this tree stands out, majestic. Like all good things, it can’t be hurried.

It can be a bit lonely sometimes, though.

But I guess with the seasons in cycles, no one is really ahead ahead like the chicken or the egg question. Maybe one day, when I’m ready for the faster paced life that my peers live in, everyone else will be ready to try out and discover what I already know: the pleasure of taking your time and relishing each moment.
